How to care for your SHEN towels
Our towels are woven from soft cotton and finished with hand-guided embroidery. A little care keeps both the pile and the stitching looking their best.
Wash before first use
The first wash opens up the fibres and makes the towel properly absorbent. Use a warm cotton cycle, and skip the fabric softener — it coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time.
Keep the embroidery crisp
Turn embroidered towels inside out before washing, avoid bleach entirely, and don't tumble dry. Line drying protects both the colour of the thread and the shape of the border.
Ironing
If you like a pressed finish, iron the woven borders only and keep the iron away from the pile so it stays soft underfoot and against the skin.
