who we are?

SHEN is us — a small Egyptian studio and the workshops we have worked alongside for years. We built this brand together to bring Egyptian craft into the way we live today, drawing on generations of know-how in pottery, mother-of-pearl and cotton. Our aim has always remained the same: to offer elegant, timeless and functional pieces.

All our pieces are designed in Cairo, at the SHEN studio, with a permanent search for elegance and functionality. We take care of the drawings, and the Egyptian workshops we work with accompany us in the development of every collection.

Production

The pieces are then made in expert Egyptian workshops: pottery thrown and painted by hand, mother-of-pearl inlaid piece by piece, cotton woven and embroidered locally. With a huge majority of the steps carried out by hand.

SHEN's story is ours. We began with a simple belief: that the things we live with — what we wear, what we set on our tables, what we wrap our homes in — should carry meaning and craft. Our first collections were made with a handful of Egyptian workshops, and they set the direction for everything since.
